  • K’rul

i had a YES!! moment when she said he was selfish, lol

  • Wawv

Hmm we can’t say that he is selfish just because he’s been happy… I mean he was abandonned why should he care ?

    • guest

I think the “selfish” comment wasn’t because he was happy. What else could Lark do? He had to make the best of his situation.

More like, I think she called him selfish because he’s taking the whole thing personally. Lark thinks he was “abandoned,” so he never stopped to wonder what happened to Setz, if Setz was OK, etc. Maybe something bad happened and that was why he never came back. Lark was only abandoned if Setz purposely chose not to come back for him, not if there were circumstances out of his control. And as Bathory points out, Lark didn’t make an effort to find out about Setz either. Now that Lark does have the chance to find out about the past, he’s being petty in not wanting to find out.

Thanks! and I wonder if Setz heard the whole conversation
about how he never asked about him?

  • Aizen

yeah, the main character is being selfish.

Thank you EGscans for yet another fantastic release!
I am so glad about how things are turning out! If you actually think about it,no mangaka says their character is selfish in the actual manga. Most of the time,it’s up to the readers to figure out who is selfish and who is not. This might not be super-action-packed but it does show quite a few sides of life. Lark was indeed being selfish but it’s not a bad thing. As Bathory said, humans can’t help being selfish. It’s something natural. Besides,if Lark was not selfish,he would have fallen into depression and probably would have had problems in his growing up. He decided to naturally move on with life, since it did become evident to him that Setz wasn’t going to come back. He may have not asked because he knew there was nothing he could do because he was so young.
Can’t wait for the next chapter.I bet ch.50 is when we will figure out how Setz feels about the whole abandonment situation or at least get a hint.He won’t reveal to Lark everything, most likely.

Thank youuuuuuuu!!! You guys are the BEST!

Bathory makes a good point that Lark didn’t go searching for Setz either. If Lark wants to say that the reason he didn’t go after Setz was because he was a kid and didn’t know where Setz was, etc., then he should be able to realize those excuses apply to Setz as well. Stuff happened that was out of Setz’s control, so Lark should try and understand Setz’s side of things, as Angela wants him to. Then they can finally have the opportunity to move forward as friends once again.

As an aside, I couldn’t help it and peeked at untranslated chapters. This series looks like it’s only going to get more awesome with each chapter. I can’t wait to read your translations!
