damn when i looked at the raw for this chapter, i thought they revealed some important information about who lark was or something, damn “disappointed” :(
laurens
They did, However it is a little by a little.

What do you think of possibility, that Miss Bathory is child of Karmilla Bathory and Nergal? It would be a good explanation of whole situation.

Neal and Karne are a twisted (potential) couple.
I go back and forth on whether or not he has romantic feelings for her, or whether he’s just using her. At the moment, I mostly think that he does have feelings for her, but he’s so twisted he doesn’t recognize them for what they are.
Karne on the other hand, I’m even less sure about. I’m pretty sure she really is in love with Setz. However, I think Karne and Setz are a “necessity” couple. They don’t have anyone else they can rely on except each other. However, while Karne’s feelings for Setz are romantic, I think Setz’s feelings for her are platonic. I think on some level she knows this, and that’s why she goes running off to a guy like Neal, since Setz doesn’t share her feelings.
But does she love Neal? Her feelings for Setz could be getting in the way of her understanding her feelings for Neal, or she could just be selfish (like when she went to Lark for help). I’ll be interested in how this plays out between them.
esselbon
to me it seems like Lark is a descendant from karmilla.
Pandena
But he is a human, and in the extra chapter said that a vampire can’t have childrens with humans.
Siruna
Yeah but humans don’t have red eyes, so there has to be a connection between lark and those who aren’t human. (Besides, karmilla created a whole world….)
tr0p0x
yeah, and becides isnt it a bit strange that karmilla talks with lark in his dreams, while nergel who has been searching for her for a century hasnt?
laurens
Not to mention, Vampire’s could have been human in the past(old days) and Lark can be a vampire whose power got regressed like said in the previous chapter.
Pandena
I think that Lark is a class of wizard that exits in this world, like Angela said, and because of that he have some occult magic.

Thank you very much ^_^

Does Karne have feelings for Neal or something? I thought Setz knew about what happened in her past? Or maybe she doesn’t want Setz to know that she’s dangerous coz she’s afraid he’ll leave her.

I think Karne had been repressing what happened up until just now, so her decision not to tell Setz wasn’t an intentional one. However, anything she does or does not tell him after this point will be an intentional choice on her part.

Alright, for everyone who is a little confused about the whole Carne-Neal relationship,I’ll give you a pretty simply explanation.
Carne has had a very traumatizing past. She hasn’t got many friends,if not none, because she’s a noble and nobility aren’t that keen on developing friendships with a lot of people.Plus, she’s Setz’s fiance which means she can meet with only certain people. These facts lead to the situation she is in.Carne is practically depressed and lonely since she has no one to share her feelings with. Not even her feelings, her thoughts actually. If you sometimes feel down or have something great happen to you,you would always want to share it with somebody.Well,Carne doesn’t have a ‘somebody’.She lives in a closed up society and has no real friends, just like Setz.
And here comes Neal.He is practically angry at the whole of nobility because he was abandoned(he’s a servant) and/or because he is treated like scum. Most likely the second reason is true, since it was mentioned before that he has a very forgetful mind.Actually,I doubt he remembers anything from his past and thus he thinks the whole world has left him behind. So,his intentions are to take down the highest standing vampires and to do that he has started from Navarus, since he is a first generation pure-blood vampire. However,to do that he needs tools and information. Thus his target is Carne, because:
1.she is very dear to Lord Navarus, thus having a sort of influence on him
2.she’s Setz’s fiance and also has influence on him
3.she can be manipulated easily
4.she is the least to be suspected of anything
Carne is easily taken by the kindness of Neal, since it’s the first time anyone has been nice to her without an evident reason (much like Setz’s situation with Lark when they were young). Neal,on the other hand, is having no problem getting her to fully trust him.So far,I don’t think he has done anything to influence her,but now that she completely trusts him and has revealed her deepest secret,he has her in the palm of his hand.He can use the information against her by saying “I’ll tell if you don’t…” or maybe “If you don’t do…..somebody might find out”. The last part when he says “It’s so hard not to laugh” means the trap has snapped shut and the plan to capture Carne’s heart and mind was a success.
There are no romantic feelings here. It’s just the casual thing seen in other places, mostly in everyday life, too:
person who fully trusts somebody-somebody who’s acting nice just to use that person.
That’s the sort of relationship they are in.It just proves that this webtoon isn’t all about fantasy and mystery, but also about such relationships and real-life emotions. It’s like a mixture of real life and a fantasy world :)
Thank you EGscans for this amazing release of Crepuscule!
